Members of Platoon 4 worked to extiguish a house fire on School St. this afternoon. HQ and Greeneville units were dispatched to 76 School St. just after 1 PM for a reported structure fire. Battalion 1 (B/C Carter) arrived on scene to find a 2.5 story wood frame structure with heavy fire showing from the front of the building. Squad A was first due and stretched a primary line to the fire floor. Engine 2 arrived to stretch second line to the 2nd floor. Truck 1 members set up and cut a hole in the roof for ventilation while the crew of Engine 3 conducted a primary search. In total, 3 lines were in operation. Crews worked aggresevely to extinguish the fire to prevent further damage to the home. All occupants were reported out of the builidng on arrival and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal. Mohegan Tribal FD was also on scene as the FAST Team.
