At 6:35pm Tuesday night, HQ was dispatched to the Blackstone Apartments for a fire alarm.  In route, a medical alarm was alson called in for the same floor.  E2 was added to the assignment.  Squad A and E3 crew found a burn victim at the top of the stairway and an apartment charged with smoke.  E3 carried the patient down 6 stories while high rise packs and pressurized water cans were deployed.  Evacuation and attack stairways were established and the fire was quickly brought under control.  Ventilation was affected via the apartment windows and stairway roof access.
