      Welcome
      What's New at IAFF 892

Several members spent last week receiving their Confined Space Rescue Technician certification.  Training was provided by the IAFF.

Upon arrival, NFD found a vehicle that had crashed into the rear yard of a residence after leaving the parking lot behind the Holy Trinity Church on Washington Street. One occupant was evaluated and transported.  The scene was secured.

On August 3, around 4:15pm, a working fire was called at 57 Prospect St/234 Hickory St.  Due to the ballon frame construction and the heat/humidity, the fire went to 3 alarms.  Four firefighters were transported to the hospital and released.  Photo by Rob Ladd

Around 18:15 on August 1, Engine 2 and Headquarters were dispatched to 90 Sixth Street for a possible structure fire.  A working fire was confirmed while units were responding.  E2 arrived and stretched a hand line to the top floor of the 2 1/2 story wood frame, single family house.  Additional units supplied water and performed a primary search, while Truck 1 vented the roof.  All occupants were out of the house and the fire was quickly contained.  The house required extensive overhaul.
